Here at The Broken Arrow, we have enjoyed a working relationship with our Arabian, part-Arabian Spanish Mustang cross and Paint horses (currently no paints, but my daughter is looking). We enjoy their beauty, good nature, and common sense that comes with the bloodlines of their performance ancestry. With the Arabians, we have a tendency to appreciate the working abilities of *Witez II and Ofir bloodlines, which are Polish bred horses. We also like the Crabbet bred and Raffles bloodline from Great Britain. In our opinion, horses with these bloodlines often turn out to be good sensible working horses, that often are able to live a long useful life.
All our horses are stake out broke after weanling age. They are use to being with cattle, as they are usually wintered with our herd bulls during winters months, so know how to watch out for themselves and how to manage with being around average natured bulls. Their summer pasture is a ranch/cattle type of pasture with barbwire fencing, so they are also familiar with that type of fencing. We put prices on several of them due to flooding of our hayland and horse pasture. A lake near by has become huge with no place to flow too. So, we need to reduce the herd size, as we lost many acres of forage.

A nice opportunity for harder to find some of the great and famous classic Polish bloodlines that she don't cost over $4,000 and she's not already pushing 20+ yrs either!
Syndi is a lovely, peppy brood mare with very sweet looking, dishy feminine face with large eyes. White markings include a right front boot and faint star.
SYNDI loads well into a trailer, stands well for hoof trims, not a halter puller when tied. She is also flat strap stake out broke, so normally does not panic when lead rope is around her legs. Small scar on right side, corner of mouth is her only blemish.
SYNDI is an attentive mother and good milker. Very good whiters, not mutton. Good legs, nice shoulder and neck set, good hooves. Vaccinated for 2011 on Rabies, West Nile, E/W Sleeping sickness, and Tetanus.
Her sire is a handsome fellow, very typey, with a good nature. He was a Yearling Sweepstakes Futurity Champion, a class A Champion, a Regional Top Ten Halter Horse, and more recently a Most Classic Champion.
Syndi's dam is a good natured horse reported gentle enough for beginner kids to ride, plus a good broodmare.
We had not decided to have Syndi broke to ride, so she has been a brood mare for us. We have only bred her twice and she took both times with first visit to stallion, and she had no foaling difficulties either time. Syndi is a good caring mother milks well, her foals were fat on her. Syndi may also be a good cross with pony breeds for half Arabian show pony foals. She has a friendly personality, but can get a little nervous, not a beginners horse. We have done some minor ground training on her including stake out training. She has been wintered with bulls and cows and is familar with ranch barb wire fencing for her summer pasture.
Syndi has several Polish lines including some lines to *Witez II / Ofir. Her last foal was in 2008 and she had a nice bay filly at side then by a linebred "Ofir" pure Polish homozygous black stallion formly owned by Witez Black Arabians, EOPOLUS. EOPOLUS is Sweepstakes Nominated and by +OPUS ONE. She also had a nice natured 2007 filly by the same stallion.
We vaccinated annually in March for rabies, tentaus, E-W sleeping sickness, and West Nile.

TBA Barbie
Brood Mare
Breed: Spanish Mustang/Arabian Color: Dappled Palomino Sex: Mare Registration No.: PHA 11363 Foaling Date: May 30, 1995 Height: 14.2hh Breeder: Debbie Komrosky Sire: Booker T Mustang Dam: Golden Taffee Pedigree:Click here
Barbie was delivered to the ranch by her breeder, as a pretty little weanling. She is registered with a color breed registry, the Palomino Horse Assoc. Even now at her age, she still has her beautiful dapples. She is sired by a registered Spanish Mustang and could have been registered as a half Spanish Mustang. Out of a registered IAHA 7/8 Arabian-1/8 Quarter Horse palomino mare. She has a strong female line of palominos on her dam side. She has one line to *Witez II / Ofir. Barbie is very nicely put together mare with good legs, and a lot of balance in her confirmation.
Barbie was broke to ride as a three year old, was not herd bound, and obviously was going to make a nice non-spooky sensible saddle horse. One day our herd bulls got into a disagreement and pushed each other out of the corral, leaving a big hole. Barbie and another gelding we use to have, went through and made bee-line to our feed lot grain wagon. Of course helping themselves to the goodies until they could barely swallow. So, when discovered, a quick trip to the Vet. for mineral oil and shots. The new young Vet. that treated them, goofed up and got a little mineral oil in Barbie's lungs. Well, she didn't founder, but the chronic lung problems as result of the mineral oil treatment ruined her lungs. She now has shortness of breath, and a chronic cough. So, with the permanent lung damage caused by the mineral oil, we were forced to change her career from saddle pony to broodmare.
Also the winter of 2009 my husband slipped up and foundered her front hooves by switching from grass hay to alfalfa to quickly. That attack was bad, but so far has been the only one since.
We have enjoyed some very nice foals from her so far. The first two were sired by Witez Black Arabians deceased herd sire, El Nigadin. A palomino filly was first, and a black colt the following year. The palomino filly was sold to Witez Black Arabians as a yearling, and the black colt was sadly lost to colic before a year of age. Barbie had 2003, 2004, and 2006 foals sired by a son of El Nigadin: Nickoli Witez BA, a typey red chestnut, owned by the Trauger family. All three were chestnut colts. Barbie's 2007 solid dark color (maybe black or dark buckskin) colt, TBA Ofir Aandi, is by a linebred "Ofir" pure Polish homozygous black stallion, EOPOLUS, formly owned by Witez Black Arabians. Aandi has been sold. Barbie 2010 filly by EOPOLUS was born on April 21st. Princess hair coat is a mixture of black, brown, tan hairs, she may turn black when she matures.
We vaccinated annually in March for rabies, tentaus, E-W sleeping sickness, and West Nile.
We would also consider selling Barbie to a good home for $150 (read her health conditions above) as we probably will not breed her anymore due to water flooding our horse pasture...and the problem is not going away.
E-mailif you are interested in Barbie, or in her 2010 filly, you can also see pics of her 2004 gelding Spark, who we are retaining for ranch horse use.

Magnum was purchased from his past owners in WA, through his breeder in ND. He came here as a weanling and went to a professional Parilli / Johnny Lyons style trainer the summer of 2002 for the saddle. By 2003 he had a good start on him for a saddle horse with 2 1/2 months with the trainer plus many rides here on the ranch. He has been back to trainers for spring brush up training a couple times since, when because of surgery or time limitations, I have not been able to ride him.
He should be well broke by now, but a couple accidents I had, health issues I deal with, and my busy schedule is just keeping me from riding him as much as he should be ridden. So, he has been ridden mostly around home and has not been around a lot of traffic nor city much, mostly country and arena riding. He goes well, has good manners, doesn't buck for me nor the trainers I've sent him to, but he still spooks at some things so needs a more experienced rider that can handle riding spooks at times.
Magnum is normally easy to catch and friendly, having a good people loving nature. He is stake out broke, which will come in handy when on trails rides and camping out. He will side-pass up to you and stand, if you are standing on a rock, upsidedown pail, or mount block. Very handsome, good looking stout muscled fellow that can handle a large man's weight, with nice gaits that are not to choppy, good legs, good hooves, short strong back, and nice depth of rib. He has extremely beautiful tail carriage, looks like the "Black Stallion" when running on pasture. Relatives of his have done well in cutting and endurance riding. He just needs wet saddle blankets and lots more riding experiences on him then I've been able to do with him.
We vaccinated annually in March for rabies, tentaus, E-W sleeping sickness, and West Nile.
His pedigree is very good with a few lines to *Witez II / Ofir.
Part of me hates to part with him, but I may consider offers if I know he is going to a good home. He should have a home that will put him to more use then I do. I just have a hard time getting time to ride him as often as he should be. Would consider selling a custom built 17" seat light duty roper saddle with him for $675 extra. Magnum has wither height but an extra thick shoulder blade like many Arabians have and short back, this saddle tree was custom cut to have an extra width in throat of gullet and shorter bar length for his back. We have found that some saddles designed for old foundation type QH will fit his back. Some of the older bull dog QH style Big Horn saddles seem to fit him well.
Offering him for sale at $5,000.00 reduced to $4000.

TBA SPARK OF WITEZ

Breed: Half Arabian/Spanish Mustang Color: Red Liver Chestnut Sex: Gelding Registration No.: HAHA 1A354227 Foaling Date: April 20, 2004 Height: 15hh Breeder: Deutscher Sire: Nickohli Witez BA Dam:TBA Barbie Pedigree:Click here More Pictures:Click here
Spark started out right away as a friendly fellow. A beauty with his nice muscling, straight legs, and pretty dished face. He has an upside down raindrop shaped star on his forehead, a tiny strike where the halter noseband lays, a snip, and a 3/4 white area on the right hind pastern for white markings.
Spark is ranch raised and is use to being with cattle, as he is usually wintered with our herd bulls during winters months, so knows how to watch out for himself and how to manage himself with being around average natured bulls. He's summer pasture is a ranch/cattle type of pasture with barbwire fencing, so he is also familar with that type of fencing.
A full brother to Spark's sire was a very successful cutting horse in All-Breed and Arabian competition. He was especially competative against Quarter Horses.
Spark is registered as a half Arabian, but in reality he is 23/32 Arabian, 1/4 Spanish Mustang, and 1/32 Quarter Horse. He has about 5 lines to *Witez II. Spark had 45 days of professional training in summer of 2007 for western riding. And an additional 30 days of training spring 2008. We are enjoying continuing his training here at the ranch, and looking forward to using Spark in drill team, trail riding, and cattle work in the future. Spark was also trained for stake strap tie out.
OFIR, 1.41% *WITEZ II, and 25% Spanish Mustang.

PRINCESS has a three cornered star and appears grulla color with her foal coats, but expected to turn black as she matures. She has a lot of personality and is curious about everything. She is registered as a half Arabian, but in reality she is 23/32 Arabian, 1/4 Spanish Mustang, and 1/32 Quarter Horse. She is a strong muscle/boned individual with potential for a cow horse, but she could do well in English also, she has the neck postion and leg action. She had foal imprint and is halter broke, friendly, learns very quickly, and has the nice disposition of her sire.
We vaccinated annually in March for rabies, tentaus, E-W sleeping sickness, and West Nile.
