MAGNUM is a handsome well bred horse that should be very well broke by now. But my fault he isn't, I have been dealing will a lot of personal health issues with injuries and asthma the last four years. I haven't advanced his training a great deal. He has not been ridden during winter months. Photos show in both his winter and summer condition.
He does has a good start on him for a saddle, origially with 2 1/2 months by a professional trainer using Pat Parelli style training, and he has had many arena rides since. Our trainer taught him to side pass up to a pail or step for mounting, to help me with my cow injury handicaps. His trail experience and being around traffic is limited yet, so he will spook now and then outside the arena. However, as an update, when I was laid up from another accident last summer, he spent July and part of August 2007 with a cowboy/trainer in western North Dakota for out of the arena training, so was given some real ranch work/riding in, over steep hills, creeks, etc.
He has the good Arabian stamina that an endurance horse needs and can handle up to 300 pounds of rider and gear easily. He will still continue to need more riding and training by a more experienced rider yet (upper intermediate or experienced rider). He hasn't bucked since his first saddling at the trainers, he is not a mean or angry type of horse. He just hasn't been to town for parades or around a lot of traffic yet.
He is stake out broke, which could come in handy when on trail rides and camping out. He was also hobble broke. But the best part of that training is he now doesn't normally panic when a rope touches his legs. He also has had some Parelli type de-spooking training.
He has a good people loving nature. Good looking stout muscled fellow, an easy keeper, with nice legs that are set on each corner, not narrow chested, good dark grey hooves, short strong back, and nice depth of rib. Beautiful long high tail carriage, he can really flag his tail nice and straight up. He stands well for clipping and hoof trims. Loads well into slant load and stock trailers. He has been ranch raised since a weanling and is summer pastured with barb wire fencing.
His pedigree is very good with a few lines to *Witez II / Ofir. He is vaccinated for West Nile, Eastern/Western sleeping sickness, rabies, and tetanus for 2008.
